I was visiting friends in Alpharetta. My friend is a member at Olde Atlanta. I found it challenging, but enjoyed it very much. I am sure I would score much better if I had a chance to play again.

This is a course worth playing. Very challenging and very enjoyable. The carts come equipped with GPS. Every hole is different. Nothing boring about the course.
On the back nine there are two water holes that will present problems. The first one is a short par 4 which is reachable by a big hitter, but for the shorter hitters the hole can be misleading. The GPS says the water is 188 yrds from the white tees. So a 200 yard hitter might decide to play it safe and hit about 160 to avoid the water. However, what the GPS does not let you know is that the last 38 yards to the water, from 150 to 188 yards, are straight down hill. The only way to keep the ball out of the water is to hit it 150 yards or less. The second tricky water hole positioning vis-a-vis what a first time player on this course would know is the 18th. The GPS does not tell you how far the water is from the tee. Neither does anything in the fairway tell you how far it is from where your ball lands. It makes taking a lay up a guess. Again unless you are a long hitter you do not know how far to hit the ball.
The greens were bent grass and quite fast.
If given the chance to play this course again, I would be ready in an instant. It was a lot of fun to play and a nice golf challenge.

Better putters will love the new fast, undulating greens. And note: no ball marks!Course was crowded and pace was slow, but slow play seemed to be a standard for today's golfers.
